Customer story
Event Makers Finland Oy
As Kokkola-based Event Makers expanded, the entrepreneurs needed to find an occupational health partner that understood the needs of event production. Botnia Occupational Health stood out with its values, local presence, and competitive pricing.
Event Sales Manager and Partner Tanja Viitala explains why they chose us (in Finnish):
There is never a dull moment in event production
For Event Makers’ close-knit team, the calendar is filled with both planning and putting ideas into practice. The entrepreneurs consider it important to be involved in the different stages of a project, and working on site at events can involve, for example, carrying equipment and taking tens of thousands of steps.
At Event Makers, the need for occupational health services is clearly recognised, as the work can at times be physically demanding. Unexpected situations may also arise, so it is good to be prepared:
– Anything can happen, says Event Makers’ Event Designer and Partner Anna Linnanmaa.
Occupational health services tailored to the needs of new entrepreneurs
Event Makers was established in 2024. Occupational health services were already familiar to the new entrepreneurs from their previous workplaces, but as employers they were now facing a new situation.
After learning more about different service providers, the company chose Botnia Occupational Health as its partner in 2025.
– When comparing offers, Botnia Occupational Health’s transparent and clear pricing was an important factor. It was easy to consider what our company might need at this stage, says Event Sales Manager and Partner Tanja Viitala.
Botnia’s local presence, good value for money, and values were important for us.
– Tanja Viitala
Personal service provides important added value
During the selection process, Event Makers took several different factors into account. One of them was that Botnia was seen as a smaller service provider of just the right size:
– Perhaps that contributes to a certain kind of genuine interest in the customer, Viitala says.
– It felt like they truly care about employees. That was a major and decisive factor, says Event Producer and Partner Niina Palosaari.
The personal nature of the collaboration has also been seen as particularly meaningful at the company:
– We were immediately assigned a contact person who handled matters together with us and was genuinely interested in what we do, as well as in how our needs could be met in the best possible way and how the right services could be provided to us, Viitala says.
It felt like they truly care about employees.
– Niina Palosaari
Collaboration creates a sense of security for the future
At the moment, Event Makers does not yet have any specific plans for developing the collaboration further. However, the company hopes that the partnership will continue with the same openness as it has so far:
– They are there by our side, and we know that we can get support from them whenever we need it, if such situations arise, Viitala says.
